UCLA vanpool drivers receive special awards during the 2014 “Vanpool Drivers Appreciation Event” as UCLA Transportation’s Bruin Commuter Services Celebrates 30 Years of Sustainable Transportation and Vanpool Program. The awards were presented by the Bruin Commuter Services (BCS) on June 26, 2014 at the UCLA Faculty Center. Special guests from Metro and Disney also attended the event.
On Thursday morning, the atmosphere in the Faculty Center was filled with laughter and familiar conversations as the award nominees and guests made their way to the tables. The award nominations were sent out to participants of the Vanpool Program in March of this year. BCS received over 185 award nominations, with the top nominees invited to the celebratory event.
The award categories included Safety King and Queen, Mr. and Ms. Congeniality, Years of Service (for those who have been driving for over 25 years), and many more. A total of 38 awards were presented.
In an effort to recognize and honor all of those who have contributed to the continued success of UCLA’s 30 Years of Sustainable Transportation, Bruin Commuter Services also thanks the 460 drivers and over 1700 vanpool riders for participating in a safe and reliable vanpool program.
