My boyfriend just added "Subway Stories" (1997) to the Netflix queue. The stories are cinematic adaptions of written stories submitted by New Yorkers for a contest about their experiences with the subway.

I'm hoping this one is better than the 2009 version of The Taking of Pellham 1-2-3, the subway thriller replete with Samuel L. Jackson/"Snakes on a Plane"-style profanity. That one appeared to be so obnoxious, yet nightmare inducing that I couldn't be in the same room while it played, and instead I wore headphones and watched a slightly less-scary episode of "Grey's Anatomy".
