ME!Can’t believe after many years of solo driving that I am back in the rideshare mode, taking Commuter Express 573 to work from the San Fernando Valley! I started in June to save money, but now am so happy that I would not go back to driving alone. If you buy the quarterly pass (3 months at a time) it is only $28/month (vs. $79/month for my blue parking permit). That is the staff/student discount if you buy your pass at the Central Ticket Office. That doesn’t even include all the savings on gas, insurance and car repairs/maintenance! It is so convenient, too. I park at the Park & Ride lot on Victory and Balboa, and from there, it only takes about 30 minutes or so to get to the stop at Strathmore and Gayley – just steps away from my work. The bus comes every 15-20 minutes during prime time, so it is very convenient too. And – I keep seeing people I know on the bus. Armando is the person who introduced me to Commuter Express. I have also seen Sue, Gena, Mike, John, Debra and others, too. I know my friend Kathy takes the 573, but have yet to see her. Anyway, I am looking to take and post photos of friends on the bus on this blog, so if you see me, introduce yourself and be ready to be captured on my iPhone and uploaded :)
