Hello everyone! My name is Debra and I’m new to the Be a Green Commuter blog. You’ll see lots of posts coming from me in the future. Let’s get right to it!
Did you know that The Source, LA Metro’s fantastic blog, features Go Metro Weekends? Each week it provides a great eclectic list of events you can attend in Los Angeles—everything from Trivia Quizzes at the Hammer Museum to food festivals in the OC are listed in one convenient calendar. And, of course, each destination is accompanied by public transportation options to get you to your destination.
On top of that, you can use your Metro pass or rail ticket for discounts at various arts and entertainment destinations. The Go Metro Weekends calendar conveniently marks which events you can receive a discount at just by using public transportation.
According to the calendar, this Saturday is the opening weekend of the annual LA County Fair. The Metrolink is adding a special stop to their San Bernardino Line that will bring all passengers right to the fair location. If you are a UCLA student, alumnus or staff or faculty member, you might want to head over on Saturday, September 24th—UCLA Day! Wear your Blue and Gold and join your fellow Bruins on the train.
