UCLA Transportation recently installed new bike facilities along Royce Drive between Parking Structure 5 and Royce Hall. The new facilities include a high-visibility green bike lane northbound along Royce Drive and new high-visibility green sharrows southbound along Royce Drive.
This corridor of campus has a high volume of pedestrians and bicyclists. The pedestrian pathway along the Fowler Museum is limited in space given the existing landscaping. Therefore, the new bike facilities will help increase safety for both pedestrians and bicyclists. The facilities will also help increase safety between bicyclists and motorists who park in Parking Structure 5.
