This week's #UCLARideshare story comes from Steven Clarke, who walks to work every day with his wife. Studies have shown that walking to work helps you lose weight, reduces the risk of heart disease and helps relieve stress. We applaud you both! Thanks for sharing your story, Steven!

Here's the story of our usual commute to UCLA for the last couple of years.

My wife and I (both faculty in Chemistry and Biochemmistry) walk to campus from Wilshire Boulevard and Bundy Drive, about three miles. Our trip takes us through the apartment buildings of Brentwood, then through the Veteran Affairs Wadsworth campus, and finally into Westwood on Wilshire. Only tricky part is crossing the four exit and entrance ramps to the 405. To help drivers see us, I have a walking stick with a neon yellow tennis ball attached to the tip—embarrassing but we are still alive!
