RethinkLA is a collaboration of people intent on re-inventing Los Angeles through creative communications and interactive education. Using social media, film and video, outreach events, exhibitions and installations, this group “intends to capture the creative imagination of the larger Angeleno population in order to educate and promote sustainable lifestyles.”
Rethink/LA is inviting you to a Moving Beyond Cars Party. Join them Thursday, August 11, 7 p.m., at the Architecture + Design Museum in the Miracle Mile area of Los Angeles, to view artwork relating to a future without cars in L.A. The “A & D” museum is at 6032 Wilshire Blvd., just one block east of the Metro Rapid Line 720 bus stop at Fairfax Ave.—good to know since getting there without a car is both de rigueur on their invite (“Getting there is half of the party”) and green commuter conscious.
Party details include the fact that the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition will have valet parking for bikes out front. This event location is literally crawling distance from the Petersen Automotive Museum, “dedicated to the exploration and presentation of the automobile and its impact on American life and culture using Los Angeles as the prime example.” That’s ‘wheely’ ironic, isn’t it?
