Most public transit riders I know, myself included (when I was riding more frequently), have stories of falling asleep on the bus and either missing their stop completely or waking up in a semi-panic thinking that they had slept passed their desired cross-streets.  Today I believe I may have discovered the solution for iPhone owners to get some sound sleep.

As a graphic designer, I frequently browse design blogs for inspiration, education, or just sheer amusement.  Occasionally I find something that is of interest to the Green Commuter Community.  Today I found an iPhone app called iNap which uses the Google map embedded in the app to trigger an alarm at a preset distance before your stop.  Personally, I don’t have an iPhone so I haven’t had a chance to test it out; however, I’d imagine it could be useful if you desire being gently rocked to sleep by your favorite Transit Authority with the piece of mind that you will awake just in time to get off and to your destination without any hiccups.

It costs $.99 to download but please let me know if any of you Green Commuters out there get a chance to try it out!
