Bicyclists have recently seen an increase in efforts to raise improvements in  bicycle safety, infrastructure and advocacy. The LA Bike Summit will bring together grassroots groups, transportation planners,  key speakers, and bike advocates alike in order to initiate discussion about key issues surrounding the bicycle community.

The Urban and Environmental Policy Institute at Occidental College is one of the primary organizors of the LA Bike Summit. The Bike Summit will feature different speakers from Portland, New York City , and Mexico City. The Bike Summit will also host a variety of different workshops discussing social trends and bicycles, networking strategies, as well as innovative planning tools designed to improve safety conditions for bicyclists.
