UCLA Transportation recently installed eight new electronic on-demand bike lockers near the UCLA Kinross Building. The lockers are located on the west side of the building near the existing bike racks.
The lockers are designed by BikeLink and are secure and easy to use. In order to use the lockers, you have to purchase a BikeLink card first. BikeLink cards can be purchased online directly from BikeLink. The John Wooden Center Cashier’s Office and the Kinross Recreation (KREC) Center Cashier’s Office will also sell BikeLink cards in the next couple of weeks. After you receive your BikeLink card, you use the card to rent the locker, similar to a parking meter. If you return to your locker early, any time left on your locker rental is returned to your card. You can view videos about how the whole process works at BikeLink’s website.
There are currently eight locker spaces at the Kinross location. The current rental rate is $0.05 per hour. Additional bike improvements near the Kinross Building which are also underway include updating the existing bike racks and installing a DIY bike repair station.
The BikeLink lockers are the first of its kind in Los Angeles and we’re excited to install more around the campus.
