The UCLA Healthy Campus Initiative (HCI) is celebrating the grand opening of the campus' new Living Amphitheater with its #DreamRevolution on Thursday, May 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The event will include a high-energy adaption of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Joe Olivieri, head of UCLA's Undergraduate Acting Program. The production will feature designers from the UCLA's Department of Theater, as well as performances by its rising-star actors.
Here's a list of what the #DreamRevolution will bring:
- 4:00 p.m. HCI-funded student projects competition, giveaways, demos, live music, and book signing of One Gun Ranch: Biodynamic recipes for Vibrant Living
- 5:00 p.m. Live show featuring a performances by UCLA's School of Theater Film and Television Actors
- 6:30 p.m. Celebration party with free food by Roy Choi's LocoL (founder of the Kogi food truck) and live music
Located inside the Sunset Recreation Complex, the Living Amphitheater provides a welcoming space for our campus community and contains 31 community garden boxes tended by UCLA students, staff, and faculty.
The Healthy Campus Initiative, envisioned and supported by Jane and Terry Semel, is committed to making UCLA the healthiest campus in America. UCLA Transportation frequently partners with HCI to encourage healthy living through various campus promotions, such as the Breathe Well campaign and Arianna Huffington's "Sleep Revolution."
