Metro ExpressLanes on the I-10 between Union Station/Alameda Street and the I-605 Freeway will open on Saturday, February 23rd. ExpressLanes on the I-110 between the 91 Freeway and Adams Boulevard near downtown Los Angeles opened last November.

Metro ExpressLanes is a one-year demonstration program that will improve traffic flow and provide enhanced travel options on the I-110 and I-10 Freeways. The program includes the introduction of congestion pricing by converting High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes to High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lanes.

Remember: You must have a transponder to use the ExpressLanes. To get a transponder and open up your FasTrak account, go to the Metro ExpressLanes website. If you open your FasTrak account by Friday, February 8th, you'll receive a free $5 in tolls and a chance to win an iPhone 5.
