Phase 1 of Metro’s Expo Line will open on Saturday, April 28th, with trains running from Downtown LA to as far west as La Cienega Boulevard. To celebrate the opening, Metro is offering free rides for all passengers this Saturday and Sunday. There will also be live music as well as other entertainment and activities at four stations:

  • 7th St/Metro Center Station (Downtown LA)
  • Expo Park/USC Station
  • Expo/Crenshaw Station
  • La Cienega/Jefferson Station

Beginning on Monday, a ride on the Expo Line will cost $1.50 (free, if you have a quarterly Metro pass).

Later this summer, the Expo Line will be extended west to Culver City (Venice/Robertson). From the Culver City station, passengers will be able to connect to the Big Blue Bus Line 12, which serves the UCLA campus.
