Carmageddon II is coming up in just a couple weekends (Sept 29-30) and officials are encouraging everyone to eat, shop and play locally to help keep cars off the road.

Metro has also partnered with almost 300 L.A. County restaurants, businesses and venues to offer special Carmageddon II weekend discounts.

The discounts range from 10 to 50 percent and are part of Metro’s Destinations Discounts Program that gives Metro riders exclusive access to various deals. Here’s a sampling of what will be available:

EAT: Splash Bistro, Buca Di Beppo at Universal City, Casa Azul Cantina, Big Wangs Sports and Bar Restaurant, Maria’s Italian Kitchen.

SHOP: Hollywood & Highland Center, Bad Boy Clothing, GNC, Marco Polo Imports, 24-Hour Spa and Nails, Westwood Flower Garden.

PLAY: Long Beach Aquarium, Madam Tussauds Hollywood, Santa Monica Playhouse, Angels Flight, Grammy Museum, L.A. Phil, L.A. Zoo, Cirque du Soleil Boutique

There will also be discounts available at major cultural venues including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, California Science Center, Natural History Museum of Los Angelees, Artmageddon and Hammer Museum.
