Calling all student transportation geeks in the LA metro area:
Metro and the LA Community College District are co-sponsoring the first-ever College Student Transportation Summit. It’s taking place this Friday at LA Trade Tech College, just south of downtown LA and located kitty corner to its very own light rail station. Yours truly, Sirinya the Intern, will speaking on a Q & A panel called “Grading LA’s Transit System: What works, what doesn’t.” It will be moderated by Rita Robinson, the head of LADOT.
At this event, which promises lots of free food and prizes (plus extra credit if you’re in my traffic engineering class!), attendees will be able to meet each other as well as learn about the latest and greatest in transportation issues facing our area. A bonus: you’ll get to meet important politicians and local government professionals who have been instrumental in advancing the improvements we have seen in LA.
I look forward to sharing and listening and meeting fellow transportation people on Friday.
