As fall quarter begins and you become more familiar with UCLA , don’t forget to check out the various transportation options that are available for students! You definitely won’t need your own car to take advantage of everything Westwood and Los Angeles have to offer.
First off, don’t forget the BruinBus is free for everyone and a great way to move longer distances on campus. This fantastic live map shows the current location of each bus so you can instantly see when the next ride will arrive right on your phone. The BruinBus even goes to the nearest market every Saturday to help out with your grocery needs. (Looking for a job on campus? We’re also hiring student drivers!)
Six public transportation providers also come right to UCLA and can take you almost anywhere you’d like to go. Eligible students can get a 50% discount or more on passes for mass transit!
On top of that, you can also rent a bike for only $45/quarter at the Bike Library. Various bike lockers, racks and even access to showers are available for bicyclists.
And last but not least, don’t forget your legs! Even if your destination seems far off, walking is the best way to get to know the campus and learn shortcuts to get from one class to another. You’ll also inevitably come across some great hidden spots that you might not have discovered otherwise. Take your time and enjoy our beautiful campus and you’ll become a pro in no time.
Welcome to UCLA!
